Effect of biofertilisers on certain physiological parameters of maize hybrids
The effects of two living bacteria containing biofertilisers were examined on maize (Zea mays L. DKC 4890, DKC 5007, DKC 5267) under laboratory conditions. One of the biofertilisers which was marked with “A” contains two bacteria (Azotobacter chroococcum and Bacillus megaterium). The other biofertiliser (“B”) contains the following bactieria: Azospirillum brasilense, Azotobacter vinelondii, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus polymyxa, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Streptomyces albus.
The dry matter accumulation of roots and shoots, the relative chlorophyll content of the 2nd and 3rd leaves (SPAD unit), the photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b, carotenoids) were measured during the experiment.
Based on the results of the experiments, it was concluded that the living bacteria containing biofertilisers have different effects on the various maize hybrids. Biofertiliser “A” increased the dry weight of the DKC 5007, DKC 5276 and DKC 4590, while biofertiliser “B” has positive effects on the DKC 4590 and DKC 5007 hybrids. The other test parameters were also different depending on the comparison of the living bacteria containing biofertiliser.
